Autism Song and Video

A friend of mine sent me this video of a singer named Mark Leland. He made a song and a video about Autism called "Missing Pieces" I love it! It is all about our life with Brandon and all our feelings and trails that we have been through. Just thought that I would share it with everyone. The song has touched my heart and of course I cried!

Eagle Mtn's Skate Park is open!!!

Today we had the pleasure of attending Eagle Mtn's ribbon cutting ceremony for the new skate park. We were thinking that it was not going to be open until next summer, but they got it done just in time for the snow. It was so cold!!!! It was to cold. We were wishing that it was in the 70's like last week. It doesn't help that it had been snowing all day. Nothing stops the boys from doing anything, especially Justin. He loves to skateboard, it is amazing what he can do on a skateboard and he is only
7. They gave away some awesome prizes as well. Skateboarding stuff that mom would never understand. Baylee and I had to go sit in the car because it was so cold, we could not feel our fingers any more. One of the boys we went with got knocked off one of the ramps when they were giving the prizes away and cut his head open and had to have some staples put in but he is doing better and will recover. We were also interviewed by the Daily Herald and our comments were in the newspaper today. http://www.heraldextra.com/content/view/287609/17/

Brandon's Broken Foot/Toe

On Monday Brandon stubbed his foot on the couch and for days he has been telling us that it hurts and that he cannot wear his shoes. Last night he could not handle the pain any longer. He had an emotional meltdown. One thing is with Brandon's Autism he handles pain differently. What happens is he will be really really fuzzy and gets irritated with anything and cries and cries. Well he started yesterday morning with the day crying. Came home from school crying. By the time he went to bed he was crying about his tooth brush. We sat down with him and comfort him but we would ask him what was wrong and he would say "I don't know", I first thought that he has an ear infection, when his ears are infected it is exactly how he acts. As I was laying with him last night it came to me like a ton of bricks, His FOOT. We decided that we would get up today and take him to the Doctors, well the doctor sent us to the hospital and Surprise it is broken right where his pinky toe meets the foot bone, including the growth plate. We have to follow up on Monday to see how it is healing, if it is not healing, we will have to go see his orthopedic doctor at Primary Children's. Let's Pray that it heals quickly and the way it is supposed to. He seems to be doing well now that it is supported.

Our Neighborhood Halloween Party

We went to an awesome Halloween Party tonight. The kids had a wonderful time. I only got one picture, sorry the camera battery died. Brandon has had an emotional today. Hopefully he is not getting sick.

Pumpkin Carving

We decided this year that we would not make jack o lanterns that we would make "COOL" Pumpkins. Justin decided to do Lighting McQueen, Brandon made Sponge Bob and Baylee did Cinderella. They were hard and the kids couldn't do alot of the work. But they turned out so cute.

Justin's Evel Knievel History Project

Justin had to do a history project for school and of course he had chosen Evel Knievel and he has worked so hard and has learned so much more, which we thought that he knew everything. In his project he had to make a display board containing facts and pictures of his life. We were so amazed that he could remember dates (month, date and the year), me on the other hand could only remeber the day he died because it was the day that Baylee was born and remember breaking the bad news to him while we were walking in the halls of the hospital when I was in labor. WHEW!!!! Then he had to dress up as him and have a button, we forgot to come up with a button and believe it Jake came up with the best button the night before it was due, it was supposed to be nothing fancy but Jake went all out, he designed this button that actually had an on and off switch and it really rang. When we dropped Justin off for school that day he whipped it out of his backpack and was showing all his friends. It does Jake good when his kids are so proud of him and how he can come up with some great ideas in a moments notice. Then he had to pretend that he was in a wax museum and parents, teachers, classmates would go around and push the button and they would have to say a fact about them. They had to memorize 12 facts, I had no idea that a second grader could memorize that much! WHEW!!! We are so proud of you Justin. You worked so hard and did a lot of research. Thanks to everyone that helped with his costume. He Loved it!!! In fact he didn't take it off until the next day. (I forgot to take a picture with him sleeping in it)

She loves to go for a ride only when she can watch Wonder Pets! We were waiting for the kids to get out of school and she was in heaven! Finally we don't have to worry about going somewhere.
